Iso Unikko means big Unikko, and the poppies here are scaled up so that only a few flowers fill the whole rug. In Dusty Blue they are worked tone on tone in soft slate and powder blues, the shapes defined by the change in pile.
Marimekko say this design is tufted needle stitch by needle stitch by their Dutch supplier, with the wool yarns spun and dyed in Europe.
