Where round rugs work best
Under a round dining table, a round rug echoes the shape and keeps the chairs on the rug — allow around 60 cm beyond the table edge all the way round. In an entrance hall, a round rug under a pendant light or centre table makes a strong first impression. In a bedroom or nursery, it brings softness to a corner or reading chair. In a living room, it works especially well with curved sofas or in a bay window.
Choosing a diameter
A 150 cm round rug suits a reading corner, a small hall or the space beside a bed. A 200 cm round rug works under a table for four or as the centrepiece of a small living room. For a round table seating six, look at the largest round sizes available, or consider a square rug.
Keeping it flat
Round rugs have no corners to curl, but a non-slip underlay is still worthwhile on hard floors to stop them shifting.
Many of our designs can also be made to order in a round format.
