Marimekko Isot Kivet Green 132507

Isot Kivet means big stones. Marimekko explain that Maija Isola built the Kivet design from circles cut with scissors, probably inspired by the big rough-edged stones cleared by hand from the grounds of her atelier home. On the rug, bottle-green stones sit in two columns on a soft pinkish-sand ground.

The deep green against the warm ground is striking and very Scandinavian.
