Maija Isola's big stones, worked tone on tone in natural white. The circles are carved into the ivory ground, so the pattern shows as soft relief rather than colour.

Marimekko say Isola cut the original circles with scissors, inspired by stones cleared from her atelier home's grounds — here that simple idea becomes a very calm, textured rug.
