Marimekko Unikko Light Beige 132201

Unikko at its most understated — pale beige poppies on a pale beige ground, the outlines carried only by the change between cut and loop pile. It gives a light room pattern without adding colour.

Maija Isola painted Unikko in 1964, after Marimekko's founder Armi Ratia had banned flower patterns — Isola's answer was a whole collection of graphic, pop-art florals, and Unikko has been printed continuously ever since. This tufted version is made in the Netherlands from New Zealand wool.
