Morris & Co Strawberry Thief Slate 027718

The quietest reading of Morris's best-known design. Strawberry Thief — thrushes taking fruit from the Kelmscott kitchen garden, drawn in 1883 — rendered here in slate greys rather than the usual indigo or crimson.

This is the colourway to choose if you want the pattern without the period. Stripped of its strong colour the design reads almost as texture from a distance, which makes it far easier to place in a contemporary room than the Forest or Grape versions.
