Wilton Weave is named in honour of the Wiltshire factory that once made carpets for Morris & Co. The design keeps the symmetry and structure of those carpets: a dense field of stylised flowers and leaves laid out in a formal, mirrored arrangement, held within a narrow red border band and a wide outer border.
It is worked in a deep, timeless indigo, with olive green, soft pink and pale blue in the flowers — the most traditional of the Morris & Co. x The Huntington designs, and a natural choice for a period room.
