Rose and Peony is one of Sanderson's most beloved designs — a heady array of blooms from the British summer garden, reworked at rug scale. Of everything in the collection this is the one with the longest history behind it.
The Red colourway is the boldest of the three, carrying the flowers in deep crimson and rose against a warm ground.
Hand-tufted in pure new wool using a high cut pile combined with loop pile — an unusual combination that gives the blooms genuine relief, so the flowers stand proud of the ground underfoot as well as visually.
